Whatsapp is an immensely popular chatting app used by 1.5 Billion people worldwide. It has an easy interface and can be used powerfully with Odoo. Pragmatic has developed an Odoo app which allows users to use the Whatsapp Application to send messages via Odoo. We can send messages from Contacts, Sales, Accounts invoice, Accounts Payments, Credit Notes, Delivery orders, Point of sale, Purchase orders, Project Task, CRM Lead, Payment Reminder, User signup page via the same application. Let us have a look at how this works inside Odoo.

How does it work?

Configuration
It is difficult to get a signup for WhatsApp for business directly and get access to API as signup process takes too long. Hence, it is better to signup for third party whatsapp API services as Chat API. Also selenium could be used for free but it is not robust and reliable and cannot handle large volumes of load. You need to signup for Chat Api account on https://app.chat-api.com/login

First we have to login into whatsapp chat api using https://app.chat-api.com/login.
We get an whatsapp instance id & whatsapp token.


Go to General Settings and Paste the credentials for Whatsapp Instance Id and Whatsapp token copied from whatsapp chat api.

Click on Get QR Code & scan QR code from mobile Whatsapp Web.


After you scan QR code from your mobile is authenticated

Send messages to Contacts


Send messages with multiple attachments

Send messages to multiple customers using Send Whatsapp message menu



Provides Access Control Permission of WhatsApp message to all apps

Add signature to WhatsApp

Go to Settings -> User -> Preferences


Here we can add user signature

Sales order configuration

Goto Sales -> Configuration -> Settings



Add signature

Signature will get added to the message


Add product information in the message:

Goto Invoicing -> Configuration -> Settings

If assigned to user sends reply as Done using “Whatsapp- Assigned task done” scheduler project task state changed to done


For payment reminder if customer overdue to invoice then message will be sent using “Whatsapp - Payment reminder send message” scheduler.

From Point of sale we can send order details by whatsapp


From website user signup page if user enter mobile number & country then message will send to mobile number
